Indeed, to GOD, the similitude of Jesus is like Adam.

Jesus, the Spirit of God (Isa, Ruhullah in Arabic), metaphysically speaking is Pure Soul in Human Form.
When people asked the Messenger of God about Soul, it was revealed that Soul is a Command of God. That is how also the Christ is understood, as Command of God or the Word of God. All of this point to the metaphysical reality of Christ being Pure Soul manifest in Adamic Form (Human form).
God says that the similitude of Jesus is like Adam. Some says, the similitude comes from the fact that both Adam and Jesus were brought into existence through God's Word / Command "Be", in different time dimensions; others bring the point that they both had no biological father.
But we may dive deeper than the biology of clay and water. The subject matter here is beyond physical realm.
We ordinary human beings are primarily Adamic form and our Spirit or Soul is dormant. With our increasingly materialistic tendency we are moving further away from our realities of our Soul. We are mostly concerned with our bodily need and our soul is almost forgotten, starved to death, undernourished.
And Jesus himself left us many hints in his teachings when he reminded from Scripture that "Man shall not live by bread alone." The food for Soul is something else. It is through God speaking, breathing into Our very Soul that our Soul is the most nourished and fulfilled (remember the mouth of Lord imagery in Deuteronomy?)
To become an empowered Soul, enriched one, to become like Jesus, we need to resurrect our Soul which is of Divine Origin. We who are primarily Adam of water and clay (material stuff), need to and can become like Jesus by empowering our Soul.
This God willing is Our journey towards becoming like Jesus. Its not easy. Watch out for baptism with fire! In Arabic the word for fire is NAR and the word for Divine Effulgence is NUR. Through the test of fire (NAR), one can reach NUR, Divine Light, the symbol of Pure Soul.
Allahumma azirna minar nar (O GOD save us from the fire), Allahumma atmimlana nurana (O GOD please perfect our Light for us).
And again, Jesus, the Lighthouse for Humanity, is Primarily Soul in Adamic Form.
"Thus it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit." - 1 Corinthians 15:45
And Jesus Christ is understood as the Last Adam or said in another way, Soul becoming primary or dominating over the Physical Adamic form (as in Jesus) is the final evolution of Man, in the context of spiritual evolution and completion of Man to become HuMan.
We are Primarily Adam and our Soul is waiting to be Resurrected, to be Enriched.
So our next evolution, for each of us, waiting to happen is the revolution and resurrection and baptism of our Soul. That is the becoming like Jesus.
Some says, the Return of Jesus is waiting within us when our Soul will be resurrected, will ascend again, will experience miraj, when we will again harness the power of our Soul. And God knows the best.
Jesus, the Son of Mother Mary is a Sign of God, Ayatullah.
May each of us also again become realized that We are the very Wondrous Sign of God,
may each of us reach the station of Ayatullah,
may each of us again rise to become like Jesus, Isa Ruhullah
through the enrichment of our Divine Soul within.

May the peace and bliss of the Universal Soul be with us all while setting our heart and soul free from trouble and free from fear. Amen - So Be It.
