Why Qur'an is Revealed? What Allah Says in the Qur'an? Part 2

The author of this article holds the position that those Muslims are literate must understand the meaning of the Qur'an. To insist that just making the Sound is like Reading or Reciting the Qur'an is nothing but Arrogant Ignorance. A primary reading of the Quranic verses where Qur'an Itself Explain the Purpose of its Revelation makes it amply clear that Qur'an is revealed for the following reasons:

1) To Guide Mankind

2) To Communicate the Ways of Past People and What Fate they Shared

3) To Give Glad Tidings and to Warn

4) To Illuminate Intellect and Understanding Through Examples

5) To Receive Lesson through the Signs of God

6) To Pay Attention to the Unchanged Divine Ways (Sunnat Allah) and Divine Reality

7) To Communicate the Unseen Reality and the Hereafter / Kingdom of God (Akhirah)

8) To Follow the Command of God

9) To Reveal Spiritual Laws

10) To Reveal Code of Conduct in Life both for Individual and Society

11) To Advice Humanity

12) To Contemplate Upon the Signs of God

13) As Criterion Between Right and Wrong

14) As Light that illuminate the Path of Life

and much more.

All of the above reasons can not be done justice to unless one understand the meaning of the Signs of the Qur'an.

Qur'an Define its Purpose - Reflection Over it is Intended. Reflection is Step Higher than Comprehension

A Book which God has revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that they might reflect upon its signs / communication and that those of understanding would be mindful. 39:29

The Scope is Universal, Reveal to All of Mankind

It is but a reminder to the worlds / to all nations. 38:87

This is a reminder. 38:49

But it is nothing less than a Message to all the worlds. 68:52 

Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds:  81:27

Qur'an is for People of Understanding, Not People of Zahiliyya (Ignorance) and who Champion Ignorance
 

So give good tidings to My servants, who listen to the Words and follow the best of it. Those are the ones Allah has guided, and those are people of understanding. 39:18

 A Scripture whereof the Signs are explained / expounded  made plain, a Lecture in Arabic for people who have knowledge. 41:3

 Indeed! those who deny the Reminder (this Qur'an) when it comes unto them (are guilty), for No! it is an unassailable Scripture. 41:41

This is the Guidance, the Chooser of Ignorance Has no guide

Allah has sent down the best announcement : a consistent Book wherein is reiteration. The skins shiver therefrom of those who fear their Lord; then their skins and their hearts relax at the remembrance of Allah . That is the guidance of Allah by which He guides whom He wills. And one whom Allah leaves astray - for him there is no guide. 39:23

 

Warning Must be Understood to Be Mindful of It / to Be Cautious Against

Thus have We sent by inspiration to you an Arabic Qur'an: that you may warn the Mother of Cities and all around her,- and warn (them) of the Day of Assembly, of which there is no doubt: (when) some will be in the Garden, and some in the Blazing Fire. 42:7

The Communication Has Been Made Clear. For Who? A Bunch of Cattle Who Prefer Ignorance Over Receiving the Communication or Understanding the Signs?

And Allah makes clear to you the communications, the signs; and Allah is Knowing, Wise. 24:18

The Criteria of Being a Servant of the Merciful, not a Follower of Devil are Those Who Pay Heed to Communication

(And the servants of the Most Merciful are those...) who, when reminded of the communications of their Lord, do not fall down thereat deaf and blind. 25:73

To Turn Away from the Qur'an is a Sign of the Wretched and Wrong Doing People

And there does not come to them a new reminder from the Beneficent Allah but they turn aside from it. 26:5

But if they do not respond to you - then know that they only follow their [own] caprice/ whim/ desires. And who is more astray than one who follows his caprice/whim without guidance from Allah? Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people. And certainly We have made the word to reach them so that they may be mindful. 28:50

Nay! These are clear communications in the heart-sanctuary of those who are granted knowledge; and none deny the Divine communications except the unjust / wrong doers (zalim). 29:49

To God are the treasures of the heavens and the earth; and (as for) those who deny in the communications of Allah, these it is that are the losers. 39:63

Who hears the verses of Allah recited to him, then persists arrogantly as if he had not heard them. So give him tidings of a painful punishment. 45:8

Examples and Parables are Presented so that They Be Source of Comprehension, Not to Make Ignorant Sound out of Them. Do They Have Any Sense?

And Allah present examples, parables for the humanity. 24:35

And these examples We present to the people, but none will understand them except those of knowledge. 29:43

And We have certainly presented to the people in this Qur'an from every [kind of] example. But if you should bring them a sign, the denier of truth will surely say, "You are but falsifiers." 30:58

And certainly the Divine Authority have set forth to men in this Quran similitude / examples / parables of every sort that they may pay attention. 39:27

Thus does Allah set forth their parables for mankind.47:3

If We had sent down this Qur'an upon a mountain, you would have seen it humbled and crumbling from Divine awe. And these examples We present to the people that perhaps they will give thought. 59:21

A Light of Guidance - Yes Thats Qur'an is. But Only Those Who Choose to See and Not for Those Who Choose Blindness

And thus We have revealed to you an inspiration of Our command. You did not know what is the Book or [what is] faith, but We have made it a light by which We guide whom We will of Our servants. And indeed, [O Muhammad], you guide to a straight path. 42:52

Qur'an is here to Guide. But can those who Choose to Remain Ignorant be Guided?

These are the Signs of the Qur'an and the Book that makes (things) clear, a guidance and good news (gospel) for the faithful. 27:1-2

Indeed, We sent down to you the Book for the people in truth. So whoever is guided - it is for [the benefit of] his soul; and whoever goes astray only goes astray to its detriment. And you O My Messenger are not a manager over them. 39:41

Qur'an is Meant to be Followed and to Follow Something, One Must at Least Read What It Says to Follow

And follow what is revealed to you from your Lord; surely Allah is Aware of what you do; 33:2

And follow the best that has been revealed to you from your Lord before there comes to you the punishment all of a sudden while you do not even perceive; 39:55

Those Who Turn Their Back on Divine Communication are as good as Dead, Deaf and Blind

Indeed, you will not make the dead hear, nor will you make the deaf hear the call when they have turned their backs retreating. Nor can you be a guide to the blind out of their error; you cannot make to bear (any one) except those who believe in Our communications, so they submit. 27:80-81

So indeed, you will not make the dead hear, nor will you make the deaf hear the call when they turn their backs, retreating. Nor can you lead away the blind out of their error. You cannot make to hear any but those who believe in Our communications so they shall submit. 30:52-53

What Do They Expect from God? The Reminder Has been Sent Already

And is it not sufficient for them that We revealed to you the Book which is recited to them? Indeed in that is a mercy and reminder for a people who believe. 29:51

When People Choose to Not to Understand Qur'an Fully Knowing its from their Lord and a Divine Communication, What they are Directly or Indirectly Saying is 'We Choose Not to Follow It. We Prefer Not to Read it With Understanding Lest We Have to Follow'

And when it is said to them, "Follow what Allah has revealed," they say, "Rather, we will follow that upon which we found our fathers." Even if Satan was inviting them to the punishment of the Blaze? 31:21

Qur'an is Not to Be Recited Only Over Dead, Its Reminder and Warning for Those Who are Alive

It is not but a message and a clear Qur'an - that it may warn him who is alive, and (that) the word may prove true against the deniers of truth. 36:69-70

The Messenger Lamented and Grieved This Sad Reality Already

And the Messenger has said, "O my Lord, indeed my people have taken this Qur'an as [a thing] abandoned." 25:30

Footnote: Those Misguided Ulama

This research has helped the author come to the analysis that in today's world the level of ignorance and the influence of the Arch Deceiver (Satan) over any Muslim Scholar can be graded according to their level of insistence that its OK to read the Qur'an without understanding, that its OK to babble the Qur'an and to read the Book of Guidance as Parrot without any intention to receive any guidance.

The author has experienced the so called Islamic Scholars / Religious Authority who say a variety of encouragement to ignorance.

Some say, "No need to understand, you get reward just by babbling it." They even discourage reading any translation, lest people understand and get guidance. These are the front line men (and women in that matter) who have been successfully misguided by the Shaytan. They are the front line betrayer of the Spirit of the Qur'an and its Revelation.

Others will not discourage reading translation, but neither will encourage the fact that Qur'an needs to be read with understanding in order to get guidance, in order to ponder over it, in order to receive the Light which it is.

There are others who only will say faintly that one should at least understand those Surah or Chapter that one read in the prayer. But they forget that Qur'an is not about just prayer, Qur'an is about the Deen - the Entire Life's Transaction.

There you go! those who turn back after the guidance has been manifested to them, Satan has seduced them, and busied them up with false hope. 47:25
