Writing Everything

Art by Michael Green

~ Aleef ~

Lets think of a micro thought-experiment. If you are a writer, any kind of writer that is; you don't need to be a best-seller or an acclaimed poet, just someone who once in a while stop and write down something from inspiration, ideas, solitary thoughts, whether on journal, diary or even facebook - that sort of writer will do for this thought experiment. Then you are told to imagine that you are sitting in a small class (small enough that you can not hide yourself among other students, from the instructor) with a master author and an expert writer who regularly takes class in some world famous university - and you are taking a class with him or her and the class is called "WRITING EVERYTHING."

In that class the expert teaches you that in this semester you have to choose a topic, any topic and have to write everything about it. If its about you, you have to write a day of yours in every single minute details, as details as you can sense and ofcourse in that process you have to learn to live with very heightened awareness of everything. From the way your wakeup, you look at the clock, take time to be fully awake, then you look for your slipper, how you take out your brush, pausing for a while and search for yours among many brushes of your family (if that is the case), how you prepare and eat your breakfast, then get ready, the process of your making decision about the clothes you are going to wear, how to get out of the house, how you take a commute, the entire process, how you felt in the bus, what you observed through the window or what you said to a stranger, everything. How you spent your day at work, what you said to whom, whether you got angry, felt irritated and if yes, how much or for what, the way you took leave from your colleagues, everything.

So that is an example. But the topic could also be about the person you loved the most or loving at the moment, perhaps in your accidental love affair in college. Then you gotto write everything about him or her that you know. Then you hear in the class the instructor guides you in saying:

'In order to write everything about any subject, I mean literally everything, you have to know that subject intimately, in extreme closeup. If you want to write about a travel trip, you have to really enjoy every moment of it. If you want to write about your life, any particular aspect or event in it, you really have to live in heightened awareness, living in the moment, always.

A writer writes about a subject more intimately, in more vivid and even more vivid details only when that writer feel so affectionate about that particular character, about that particular space of nature or ambiance. Perhaps it was a very loved person in his life who left such an impression that he or she appear in many disguises, in many names across many novel, many poems of that writer. That is how writing everything happens. Even a small room and whats in there can come alive in the mind of reader through the writing of an author in greater detailed perfection. Thats how writing everything should be.'

And everything, small and great is inscribed.

~ The Qur'an 54:53 ~

Now think of God. Mysteriously everything is inscribed, is written down. Just as in our DNA, our biological records are written, similarly somewhere mysteriously everything is recorded. As above, so below. Sometime it is known as Preserved Tablet, Guarded Template, another time they are known as Akashic Record.

God doesnt write everything always to simply judge us or punish us.

Sometime He does, because He is a Faithful Lover (al-Mu'min) and on the Day of Awakening, He will remind us that how deeply He cared for our every move, every speech, every glance that all He has carefully preserved, not an atom of good action or apparently not so good is missed out.

God doesnt write everything always to simply judge us or punish us.

Sometime He does, because He is such an Affectionate Lover (al-Wadud) and on the Day of Awakening by showing us our entire records, He will remind us how much we meant to Him, our every move, every thought, every action.

God doesnt write everything always to simply judge us or punish us.

Sometime He does, because He is the Most Forbearing, Most Lenient (al-Halim) who in a single gesture may forgive all and admin them in the Garden profoundly Near to Him, the Garden of the Gardener Himself (al-Firdous), the Highest Paradise. Welcome, welcome in Complete Peace will be the greeting therein.

We have not give enough consideration that is worthy to the Ways of the Divine. Specially when it comes to the spiritual truth that everything small and great is recorded. We have not given our loving attention to the truth that everything is recorded is because God in His Infinite Mercy deeply and intimately care for us, and hence every words we speak, every move we make is inscribed, is preserved, is remembered somewhere.

The Judgment Day will become different occasion for different group of people. For those who failed to see the Signs of God in this world will find themselves blind after awakening. They will fail to look at God's Countenance when He will Manifest in full Divine Glory and Splendor. But for faithful lovers of God its a Day of Rejoice for they will Behold God as clearly as the moon in a full moon night in a clear sky. The day of Judgement will transform into day of Reward.

The spiritual truth that everything is inscribed or written will manifest in two fashion on the Day. It will be intense for most people, they will experience awesome correction, Jalal, Divine Intensity and will lament what kind of Record is this that it leaves not a single thing. They shall suffer the heat of truth in the form of fire.

On the other hand those who were faithful in the unseen, did acknowledge the truths and signs in themselves and in the horizon of their lives, they will be made pleasantly surprised. For in that Record they shall find many great merits accumulated which they even didn't know. Such merits accumulated will make their scale heavier that they could imagine. They will exclaim how could so much merit be mine and they shall be informed that God accepted even those small act of kindness, that small act which was done with great love and with no trace of ego. And greatest reward for the, shall be the beholding the Divine Countenance followed by the admittance into the Garden Itself, prepared for those who attained faith in The Beloved and acted with right actions. In the great Beauty or Jamal they will lose themselves, a happy beginning of their new life.

Allahumma inni as'aluk al-Jannah. O Allah indeed we ask from You the Garden, our Original Home.
Allahuma adkhilni Jannat-il-Firdous. O Allah please admit us into the Highest Garden!
