1.
On the Day of Resurrection, all of the people will be hungry with the exception of the Prophets, peace be upon them all and their holy families and those who fast in Rajab, Shabaan and Ramadan. Allah is the Lord of Sovereignty, Whose Mercy is Abundant, Whose Grace is Vast, Whose Generosity is Endless. ~ Sacred Tradition
Shabaan is a month dedicated to me. Whoever keeps one fast during my month will verily be among those who shall enter heaven. ~ Saying of the Master
2.
We are passing the last one third of the month of Shabaan. Only about 10 days or so are left of this month. The last precious days of Shabaan, which is known as the month of the Messenger, sallalahu alayhi was-salaam, are quickly fading.
On preparation for the last few days left of the month of Shabaan before we enter into the holy month of Ramadan, Shaykh Nooruddeen Durkee, may Allah have rahma on him and grant him hayat at-tayyiba, gives a very important and timely Khutbah. It carries important advice on how to best use the remaining days of this great month of Shabaan and glad tidings of the greatly rewarding month of Ramadan.
The Khutbah was delivered on 28th June 2013 at Richmond, Virginia, USA.
3.
In this Khutbah the Shaykh reminds of abundant generosity and forgiveness which is made available to the servant by the Most High.
A Voice saying, are there none who love Us that we may love them, are there none who repent that We may forgive them, are there none who seek Me, that I may reveal Myself and show them My Beauty. ~ Hadith Qudsi
The Shaykh advices not to waste the remaining days of the month of Shabaan.
He advices to make istighfar (asking forgiveness) and tawbah (turn and returning to Him). To repent, to ask forgiveness and to turn away from past mistakes.
The Shaykh advices to make abundant Salawat in this month because Allah commanded us: Allāh and His angels send blessings on the Prophet: O you who believe! Send your blessings on him, and salute him with all respect. (33:56)
Try if you can to fast at least one day in this month of Shabaan before Ramadan come.
Ask Allah directly and actively.
The Shaykh advices that if you have not done so during the Nisful Shaban, try to take time to read the Surah Ya Siiin which is the heart of the Quran, three times between Maghrib and Isha. First with the intention for long and healthy life, second time with intention of asking protection for yourself and family from troubles and disasters and third time for absence of the need of seeking your rizq from anyone other than Allah Subhanuwa tala.
In this sermon the Shaykh transmits the very sermon of the Prophet sallalahu alayhis salaam that he delivered at the end of Shabaan.
The Shaykh inspires mashaAllah with beautiful supplication as well during the Khutbah. Join your heart with him as you listen to him in his voice.
