'i heard God laughing'
- in his ecstatic state
pronounced Hafiz, the mystic.
today
in your laughter of innocent joy
i felt the Shekinah *
raining down
from the womb
of clouds of love.
and
i turned into
an orchard
waiting for rain.

* Shekinah is a feminine Hebrew word meaning the dwelling or settling, and is used to denote the dwelling or settling presence of God.
The concept is found in Quran also, deep and inner peace of mind and heart is called "Sakeena" or "Sakina". The Qur'an declares that God sends "Sakinah" and it descends from the heaven on to the hearts of devotees. It can closely be translated as Tranquility or Spirit of Tranquility, God's peaceful presence in this world. There are two Quranic reference of the term in Chapter 48 verse 4 and 18.
Huwa allathee anzala als-sakeenata fee quloobi al-mumineena liyazdadoo eemanan maAAa eemanihim ... The Quran 48.4
It is God Who sent down tranquility (als-sakeenata) into the hearts of the believers, that they may add faith unto their faith.
+ I Heard God Laughing is also the title of the book by Daniel Ladinsky of poems inspired by Persian poet and mystic Hafiz
