In the history of mankind - two great teachers of mankind, two great healer and message bearer to humanity both came and departed in the same fashion - that is their birth and death being individually on the same date.
Many people by misunderstanding Buddha's context and message think of him as an atheist, which is so untrue and injustice to his message. He never preached there is no God. And interestingly the day Prophet Muhammad was born and died is on 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal according to Islamic Lunar Calendar. And this was the date of his first visit to the city of Medina (Yathrib), where he emigrated to establish an enlightened society for the faithfuls out of an age of darkness.
