Looking at the lives of the great ones, the great human beings who were worthy of what it means to be human, that reflection and representative of the divine qualities - we can understand and witness the truth that how their brilliant thoughts, sincere words spoken directly from the heart, their surrendered acts truly altered the course of human history. No only that, simple words spoken from their tongue had such profound power that they are etched permanently upon the book of time and still echoes back to us.
When I think of the power of words and how they echo so profoundly, I think of blessed Christ's first call to his to be disciples.
Walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers: Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew, his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. He said to them, "Come after me, and I will make you fishers for men."
They immediately left their nets and followed him. Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them. They immediately left the boat and their father, and followed him.
Now imagine the chances of a man speaking on the shore in some two thousand years back time calling some fishermen busy fishing - and those speeches being permanently etched upon the book of time in such a way that they continue to echo back to us. What is it in those words which made them last like that? As Zia Inayat Khan said, "Each moment offers a choice," When Christ saw those men, his heart responded with all sincerity at the very choice of calling those men. The same applies to every illuminated souls and what their sincere hearts spoke in various points in time. Those words, their actions were coming from such a place that in mysterious mechanism it is transmitted even to us and future generations to comes.
It is said that what we say, what we speak, the effect of it on other people is dependent upon the sincerity of the heart of the person at that very moment. There are other spiritual laws which govern and are pre-requisites for a word to penetrate the heart of others (for example it is said that one who overindulge in external senses, their words have diminishing effect on others). When we do speak from truth with sincerity, when we do act, if we do it with sincerity, we often have no idea how it affects others.
We live in the Greatest Echo Chamber Who is none other than God and God is Truth. Thus when truth is spoken with sincerity, the Master of the Echo Chamber echoes them back and it reaches many ears, many hearts, touches many lives in ways we can not know.
Here is an elegant secret, God declares as transmitted in the Sacred Tradition of Islam, "My servant ceases not to draw near unto Me by works of devotion, until I love him, and when I love him I am the tongue by which he speaks and the ear by which he hears." So those illuminated beings we are talking about, whose apparently simple speech has become immortal on the cosmic canvas, has become thus only because it is not they are speaking, but the truth in those words have made them divine echoes. And this possibility exists fully for you or us now as before.

Keeping this in mind, may we offer the following prayer with the intention that our contribution in this world be also be of positive effect, compassionate and that of beauty.

O Allah, O Beloved, please be our witness that we submit to Your Beauty, to Your Majesty and to Your Glory. Please make our thoughts beautiful, out actions beautiful, our interaction with others beautiful, our speech beautiful, our being in the world and return to You beautiful, our appointed rendezvouz with You beautiful.
