. Rabindranath Tagore (7 May 1861 – 7 August 1941) was a highly acclaimed poet, philosopher, mystic and thinker from Bengal. In 1913 he won the Nobel Prize for Literature. His poetry (many of which are turned to song) calls out for a re-connection with the Divine in every moment we live on Earth. The songs of Tagore are still very popular in Bangladesh, West Bengal, India and Bangla speaking communities around the world. Hey don't forget I am a proud Bangladeshi too! and i grew up listening to Tagore songs. Infact this song is such a favorite song of mine! Tagore Songs have become immortal classic for people of Bangla / Bengal. Interestingly Tagore is the only rare poet in the world who's two songs are adopted by two countries as national anthem of India and Bangladesh. Such great is his stature and influence!
